The Cape May County Park surrounding the zoo includes walking, jogging, and bike trails. Park Central’s posted hours are 7:00 a.m. to dusk. A short loop before or after the zoo can add movement without committing to a long backcountry hike.

The county currently lists summer zoo hours of 10:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. through October 29, 2026, with fall/winter hours beginning October 30. Park hours are listed as 7:00 a.m. to dusk. Check the official schedule before driving because hours and exhibits can change.

Give the visit a comfortable rhythm: choose a few exhibits, pause in the gardens, and let children compare animal adaptations with what they observed on the trail. The county lists more than 500 animals and a range of habitats, including the Savannah, aviary, reptile house, and large-cat areas. Outside food is permitted in the park but not inside the zoo; drinks and designated refreshments are available.
